In a world that rushes children from one achievement to the next, we saw parents longing for something deeper, a place where their child could grow in confidence, find calm, and stay connected to the timeless wisdom of Indian culture.
So we built Smriti Samskara: a home for scripture, storytelling and self-expression, where smṛti, the remembered wisdom of generations, meets saṃskāra, the gentle impressions that quietly shape who a child becomes.
Every class is led by a real mentor who cares as much about a child’s character as their learning, nurturing not just knowledgeable children, but calm, confident, rooted young people.

A venture of Nrithyakshetra
Smriti Samskara did not begin on a whiteboard. It grew out of a dance hall. For years, the children who came to Nrithyakshetra, our Kalakshetra-trained Bharatanatyam academy in HSR Layout, Bengaluru, learned their shlokas alongside their adavus, because you cannot dance the stories of Rama and Krishna without first understanding them.
Parents began asking for that second half on its own, for the scripture, the Sanskrit and the storytelling, taught with the same care, but available to families far beyond Bengaluru. Smriti Samskara is our answer: the same lineage, the same teachers, the same insistence on meaning before memory, now taught live online to families in eight countries.
Nrithyakshetra continues to teach Bharatanatyam in person in Bengaluru. If your child’s path runs through movement as well as words, that is where it begins.
