Carnatic vocal for the child who wants to sing seriously
Some families are not shopping for a hobby. They want their child taught the way a guru teaches: gamaka worked phrase by phrase, manodharma introduced before it is comfortable, a varnam finished properly, and eventually a set that can be sung on a stage. That is the track this page is about.

Carnatic vocal for the child who wants to sing seriously
The difference between a song class and vocal training shows up in the third year. One child has a longer list of songs; the other can take a raga they were given this morning and sing something of their own in it. The second takes a mentor who has stood on a stage and knows what the music demands.
Gamaka taught phrase by phrase, the part most online classes quietly skip
Manodharma started early, with alapana and simple kalpana swara
Preparation for competitions, sabha slots and school music events
A concert set built and finished, rather than a syllabus without an end
What your child walks away able to do
Varnams and krithis sung with correct gamaka and clear sahitya
Command of the common talas at all three speeds
A prepared set the child can sing in front of an audience

Three simple steps to begin
1. Tell us about your child
Call or WhatsApp us and say where your child is starting from. For carnatic vocal classes that matters — the mentor pitches the first class to what they can already do.
2. Personal guidance from a mentor
A real, live class, not a sales call. The mentor works with your child for the full session and then tells you honestly whether this is the right class of ours for them.
3. Pick a slot that survives the school week
We place your child in a batch scheduled for IST, around school hours and homework rather than across them.

“My son now begins every day with his shlokas, chanting them perfectly, and actually understanding what they mean. What moved me most is how much calmer and more focused he has become.”
Carnatic Vocal Classes in Doddakannelli, Bangalore, FAQs
Yes, after a short listen. We place a child by what they can actually sing rather than by how many years they have attended, and it is common to move someone back a rung on sruti while keeping them ahead on repertoire.
