A recorded lesson can teach a child the notes of a varisai. It cannot hear that they are singing the ri a shade flat, and a flat ri repeated for six months is very hard to unlearn. Every batch is live and small enough that each child sings alone and gets that correction while the note is still in the air.
Dallas has grown quickly for us, largely through families who moved from the Bay Area or New Jersey and brought their batch with them. Central time sits neatly between our two American coasts, so Dallas children can usually join either coast’s batch.
