Online Drawing Classes for Kids in the Netherlands
Drawing classes that start with learning to look
Children do not draw what is in front of them, they draw what they believe is in front of them — a symbol for an eye, a symbol for a hand. Teaching drawing means interrupting that. We work on looking before technique: measuring by eye, noticing the shape of the gap between two things, and drawing the line that is actually there.

Drawing classes that start with learning to look
This is the class for a child who wants to get genuinely good, and it is more demanding than a craft hour. There is repetition in it. There are weeks of shading a single sphere. What comes out the other side is a child who can draw anything in front of them, which is a different thing from a child with a folder of nice pictures.
The Dutch Indian community is small enough that families often tell us there is no local option at all — no weekend class, no temple programme within a sensible drive. That absence, rather than dissatisfaction with an alternative, is usually why families in Amsterdam, Eindhoven, Utrecht and Rotterdam come to us.
Observation trained deliberately, the skill everything rests on
Proportion and measuring by eye, not by grid tracing
One and two-point perspective, taught properly
Light and shade, from a single sphere up to a full still life
Figures and faces built on construction, not on formulas
Digital sketching on a tablet for the 10-15 group
Batch timings for the Netherlands
Live classes on CET, scheduled around your week rather than ours.
Weekday 5:00 to 7:00 PM CET, the same window as Germany, which means Dutch and German families often share a batch. Saturday mornings run too. Because batches can be small in this region, mentors have more time per child than average.
Many of our Dutch families work in and around Eindhoven and Amsterdam. Several have asked for grandparents in India to sit in on the class, which we encourage.
What your child walks away able to do
Drawing an unfamiliar object accurately from observation
Convincing light, shade and form
Perspective that holds together in a full scene
Faces and figures with correct proportion
Online Drawing Classes for Kids, module by module
What a year of online drawing classes for kids actually covers, in the order we teach it.
Looking
Measuring by eye, negative space and drawing the gap rather than the thing. Uncomfortable and essential.
Line Control
Weight, confidence and continuous line. Building a hand that goes where the eye asked.
Light and Shade
One sphere, one light source, many weeks. Then cylinders, drapery and a full still life.
Perspective
Horizon, vanishing points and one and two-point construction, applied to a real street or room.
Faces and Figures
Proportional construction, then gesture, so people stop being the hard part.
Digital Sketching (10-15)
The same skills on a tablet, layers and pressure, for children who want to draw seriously.
Prefer a room, paper and paint on a table?
Arts & Painting is the one class we teach in person as well as online. Offline batches run at our arts studio in Jayanagar, Bengaluru, with the same mentors and the same curriculum as the online batches. Families outside Bengaluru take the online batches, which cover the identical curriculum.
Three simple steps to begin
1. Tell us about your child
Call or WhatsApp us and say where your child is starting from. For online drawing classes for kids that matters — the mentor pitches the trial to what they can already do.
2. Free trial with a mentor
A real, live class, not a sales call. The mentor works with your child for the full session and then tells you honestly whether this is the right class of ours for them.
3. Pick a slot that survives the school week
We place your child in a batch built for CET. Weekday 5:00 to 7:00 PM CET, the same window as Germany, which means Dutch and German families often share a batch.
“Timezone was our biggest worry. Smriti Samskara made it effortless, the Mahabharata class fits perfectly into our London evenings, and the storytelling quality is simply exceptional.”
Online Drawing Classes for Kids in the Netherlands, FAQs
Almost none of it is. Drawing accurately is mostly trained observation plus hand control, and both improve with correct practice. The children who are called talented are usually the ones who drew more, earlier.
