Because Warli looks simple, it is usually taught as a stick-figure exercise. What gets lost is that it is narrative art — every panel is a scene with people doing something together. We teach the vocabulary and then the composition, so the child ends up telling a story rather than scattering figures.
Chennai has the deepest existing culture of shloka and Carnatic learning of any city we teach into, and parents here ask the most exacting questions about pronunciation and swara.
