Online Puja Classes in Fiji

Learn to perform the puja, not just attend one

Most households in Fiji perform some form of daily puja, and most perform it from memory — a sequence half-learnt from a grandparent, with the mantras approximated and a few steps quietly dropped. These classes teach the procedure as it is actually laid down: each step in its place, each mantra pronounced correctly, and the reason behind both.

Why families choose us

Learn to perform the puja, not just attend one

A video can show you the order of a puja. It cannot hear that your Saṅkalpa is garbled, or notice that you have been skipping Ācamana for a year. Classes are live and small for that reason, and every learner chants and performs alone while the teacher listens.

Indo-Fijian families descend from the girmitiyas, indentured workers brought to Fiji between 1879 and 1916, and one tradition survived the crossing almost intact: the Ramayan mandali, groups singing Tulsidas’s Ramcharitmanas together week after week. Children here often grow up hearing the Ramayana sung in Fiji Hindi, which makes the Ramayana course an unusually natural place to start.

The daily puja performed in its correct traditional order, start to finish

Every mantra corrected live rather than imitated from a recording

Saṅkalpa and Kalasha puja, the steps most households skip or rush

A practice that needs no priest for the everyday worship of the home

Timings

Batch timings for Fiji

Live classes on FJT, scheduled around your week rather than ours.

Fiji is six and a half hours ahead of India, so a weekday 4:30 to 6:00 PM class in Suva or Nadi is the Indian mid-morning, and Saturday afternoon batches land in the Indian early morning. We do not offer Fiji a Saturday morning slot, because it would fall in the middle of the Indian night.

Getting started is easy

Three simple steps to begin

1. Tell us who the class is for

Call or WhatsApp us and say who is joining and where they are starting from. For online puja classes that matters — the mentor pitches the first class to their age, body and experience.

2. Personal guidance from a mentor

A real, live class, not a sales call. The mentor works with you for the full session and then tells you honestly whether this is the right class and batch of ours.

3. Pick a slot that fits your week

We place you in a batch scheduled for FJT, around work, family and daily routine rather than across them.

“Living in California, we worried our kids would lose their roots. The online Shloka and Gita classes changed that. They chant every morning now, and understand what the words mean.”

No. Mantras are taught sound by sound and corrected live, with the meaning explained line by line. Most learners arrive knowing the shape of the puja but not the words.
