Online Yoga for Seniors in Australia

Gentle yoga that meets the body where it is today

After sixty, the question is rarely how far you can bend. It is whether you can get up from the floor, climb the stairs without holding the rail, and sleep through the night. Gentle Yoga for Seniors is slow, joint-friendly practice built around those everyday things, with a chair-supported version of every pose.

Why families choose us

Gentle yoga that meets the body where it is today

Most yoga classes, and nearly all yoga videos, assume a body that can drop to the mat and back up without thinking. A senior following along either skips half the class or pushes a knee that should not be pushed. Here the mentor knows each person’s health before the first class and adapts the session to them, live.

Australia runs four and a half to five and a half hours ahead of India, which turns out to be the friendliest gap of all. An early evening class in Sydney or Melbourne is the middle of the Indian afternoon, so weekday batches are genuinely easy rather than a compromise.

Chair-supported options for every pose, so no one sits a section out

Slow, joint-friendly movement for knees, hips, shoulders and spine

Balance practice done safely, with a chair or wall always within reach

Practise from home, with no travel, stairs or crowded studio

Live classes on AEST, scheduled around your week rather than ours.

Weekday 5:00 to 7:30 PM AEST is our main Australian window and it works for Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra alike. Perth families are three hours behind the eastern states and take an earlier slot. Daylight saving shifts are handled by us, not by you.

Melbourne and Sydney account for most of our Australian families, with Brisbane and Perth growing. Several families found us through the Bharatanatyam community that Nrithyakshetra, our parent academy, is part of.

Getting started is easy

Three simple steps to begin

1. Tell us who the class is for

Call or WhatsApp us and say who is joining and where they are starting from. For online yoga for seniors that matters — the mentor pitches the first class to their age, body and experience.

2. Personal guidance from a mentor

A real, live class, not a sales call. The mentor works with you for the full session and then tells you honestly whether this is the right class and batch of ours.

3. Pick a slot that fits your week

We place you in a batch scheduled for AEST, around work, family and daily routine rather than across them.

“The storytelling program transformed my shy son. Last month he confidently narrated a Panchatantra tale at his school assembly. The mentors are patient, warm and world-class.”

Questions

Online Yoga for Seniors in Australia, FAQs

Balance work is always done beside a sturdy chair or a wall, and the mentor watches on camera throughout. If you feel unsteady, a family member nearby for the first few sessions is sensible.
